This September, our JV Travel family set off for a 6-day adventure to Iceland—a land where waterfalls tumble down mossy cliffs, glaciers glitter under the sun, and black sand beaches stretch out like scenes from another planet. Here’s how our unforgettable journey unfolded, day by day:
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
We landed in Iceland’s quirky and colorful capital, Reykjavik! After transferring to our hotel, we took a quick orientation tour of the city. Between spotting Hallgrímskirkja’s iconic tower on the skyline and getting our first taste of Iceland’s crisp, fresh air, our clients were getting more excited by the second as they anticipated what lied a head. After a day of travel and venturing in the city, we got settled into our hotel, shared our first dinner as a group to get to know one another, and rested up for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: The Golden Circle
Day two was probably the most anticipated day for most of us and sure enough it lived up the hype. We kicked things off at Þingvellir National Park, where we stood between two tectonic plates—yes, literally between continents. A very unique experience. Next, we headed to Gullfoss and sure enough it took our breath away as rainbows danced in the mist of its water falls. Then we went over to Strokkur geyser as we witnessed it erupt every 10 minutes. Safe to say, that may have been one of the highlights of this trip but to top it off, some of us opted for a Northern Lights hunt that night and by the Grace of God we were fortunate enough to witness them. We ended the night watching the skies flicker with green and purple hues and felt like it was straight out of a movie.
Day 3: South Coast Wonders
Day three started of by going to Seljalandsfoss waterfall. We began our journey walking behind the curtain of the waterfall and journey our way to then stand at in front Skógafoss waterfall in complete awe of it's beauty. Then we hoped over to Reynisfjara beach, which left us speechless—its black sands, dramatic basalt columns, and crashing waves felt like stepping onto another planet. After finishing our time witnessing natures wonders, we made a quick stop in the charming village of Vík. This stop gave us the perfect cozy break before heading back.
Day 4: Blue Lagoon Bliss
When we say we also have the perfect blend of relaxation, this is what we mean/ Day 4 was pure relaxation and more of a slower day. After a free morning to explore Reykjavik’s cafés and shops, we headed to the world-famous Blue Lagoon. We experienced floating in warm, milky-blue waters surrounded by volcanic rock, all while putting on Silica mud masks on, drinks in hand and lot's of conversations and laughter echoing—it was the ultimate Icelandic spa day. We all agreed: this is how every vacation should feel.

Day 5: Reykjavik City Charm
Our last full day was all about getting to know Reykjavik up close. From the Sun Voyager sculpture by the waterfront to the dazzling Harpa Concert Hall, we soaked up the city’s art, history, and culture. We wrapped up our adventure with a family farewell dinner where we shared stories, photos, laughter and conversations that made us for an even bigger and deeper friendship with one another.
Day 6: Farewell, Iceland
We said our goodbyes with hearts (and phones) full of memories. Iceland had shown us its best, and our group left feeling like family.
New Client highlight: The Marshalls’ Story: From Hesitant to Happy Travelers
One of the best parts of this trip was welcoming five new travelers into our JV Travel family—including David and Nancy Marshall. This was their very first trip with us, and only the second group tour they’d ever joined. Their first experience with another travel agency left them skeptical in ever joining another group tour. It left them skeptical about group travel altogether. But after hearing about our past trips, reading reviews, and getting a little extra reassurance, they decided to take a chance—and we’re so glad they did! By the end of the trip, they were laughing with new friends, soaking up every moment, and telling us how this was such an amazing experience and are looking forward to future travel with us. Their smiles said it all: sometimes, you just need the right people to travel with.
So, Why Travel with JV Travel?
This Iceland journey reminded us why we love what we do. Every day was filled with wonder, but even more than that, it was filled with community. Our travelers don’t just see new places—they share them, together. As cheesy as it may sound, we put a lot of love into what we do because client experience is our number one priority. Getting the opportunity to create a space where people can share together while exploring some of the most beautiful places in the world, fill us with purpose. We want travelers that have the heart and passion to travel and explore the world just as much as we do and that’s what makes our trips so special. So if this is something you have been looking for, reliable, loving, fun and passionate community of travelers then we got a spot open just for YOU.
So, where to next? Maybe you’ll be with us on the next adventure!
